Marlene Juron, LCSW

If you're ready for your life or relationships to move in a new direction, I'm here for you! Therapy can be an important first step in the right direction for you or someone you love.

Whether you’re navigating something unexpected, noticing familiar patterns resurfacing, or are just curious about how therapy can support you, I'll help you make sense of it as we explore different perspectives together. No problem is too big or too small, and sometimes we just need someone to talk to who is outside of the situation and can offer a fresh, new perspective without fear that they'll break our confidence. Feeling stuck and holding things inside can lead to symptoms of increased stress or sadness. You don’t have to face it alone.

As a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience, I provide a supportive space for self-discovery and personal growth. Originally from Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, VA), I’ve grown up around the military. But I’ve also worked and lived in North Carolina and Florida, as an independent practitioner in private practice and in my career working for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense with both civilian and military clients. I'm licensed in all three states and currently offer both teletherapy (video streaming and phone) appointments as well as in-person sessions as required by insurance. I’m the wife of a Navy Veteran and have found great satisfaction in helping civilians, military members, and their families over the course of my career.

To make therapy affordable, I accept Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Champ VA, Cigna, Medicare, Tricare East, United Healthcare/Optum, and low self-pay rates at $65.00/hr. To make therapy accessible, I offer online scheduling 24/7, quick response times, and flexible daytime, late evening, and weekend appointments.

My clients are children, adolescents, and adults, couples, and families, and I offer a variety of proven and effective, empirically based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Approaches for Anxiety and Stress, as well as Solution-Focused and short-term approaches depending on your needs. In our first session, we will explore what works or doesn’t work in your life and relationships as we identify goals that will help you better express yourself, your needs, and your purpose in life.

I'm a fun, compassionate, and very easy-to-talk-to therapist! I use proven therapeutic techniques to help you heal, grow, and get life back on track while still embracing who you are. We all face difficulties in life, but you can find balance and peace again, even in life’s toughest situations. Please call, text, or email me directly for more information or to schedule an appointment. If you would like to schedule a first appointment to determine if we are a good match, you may also register and schedule through the “Register and Book an Appointment” tab at the top of the page.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,

Marlene

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How will I know if you're the right therapist for me?

The only way to really know if we're a good fit is to sign up and schedule an intake appointment with me. I promise to listen to your concerns and help you identify goals we can work on together, I may suggest additional resources that would be beneficial for you and if for any reason you feel you are not making progress or are not feeling improvement after a few sessions, I will assist in helping you find another therapist upon your request.

Q: What can I expect from each session?

We will explore what is working or not working in your life, patterns that may have held you back from achieving your goals, ways to improve your understanding of yourself, and your personality, and specific skills or coping strategies you can use in various situations. In sessions, your answers to my questions may lead us to uncover things you were not aware of about yourself as well. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and your own inner strength.

Q: How long are the appointments?

My appointments last from 40-55 minutes, which is standard practice for a typical therapy session.

Q: How often will we meet?

Most of my clients request every other week (bi-weekly) appointments so they have time to monitor their progress in between. For those in crisis, I offer weekly appointments and for maintenance sessions, the interval between appointments may be monthly or longer based on your specific needs.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

Talknet Counseling is licensed and can see therapy clients in both Virginia and Florida. We are in the Network for Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Champ VA, Humana Military (Tricare East), Medicare, and United Healthcare (Optum) insurance plans. We also accept Medicaid plans on the commercial insurance policies listed above.
For those without insurance coverage, our self-pay rate for therapy is $65.00 per session.

Q: Can I cancel one of our sessions?

Yes, of course, but I do request at least 24 hours notice. Appointments can be booked or canceled on our website at www.talknetcounseling.com

Q: Do you prescribe medication?
No, I cannot prescribe medicine, but if I feel medication would be helpful or if you are requesting medication I will be happy to assist you in finding a provider.
